MDL launches January offer for Otium members
MDL Marinas, one of Europe’s largest marina groups, has launched an exclusive offer available throughout January 2025. Otium is MDL’s free-to-join loyalty rewards scheme and Otium members can now purchase a five-day cruising bundle using card payment, making it easier to enjoy MDL’s network of 18 UK marinas.
Previously accessible only through Otium reward points, the five-day cruising bundles are now available for purchase with card payment or a combination of card and points. The offer, which runs until 31 January 2025, allows members to secure cruising nights that do not expire and remain valid for the full duration of their Otium membership.
As an example of the savings available: five visitor nights at MDL’s Hamble Point Marina for a 10-metre boat would normally cost £268. With Otium, members can purchase a five-day bundle for £110, representing a saving of £158. That’s £22 per night compared to the usual £53.60.
In addition to the five-day bundle, MDL offers 14-day and 28-day cruising bundles both redeemable via Otium points. For boaters looking to venture further afield, points can be redeemed for MDL’s Pass-Ports Escales package, offering complimentary access to over 140 marinas across Europe.
In December 2024, MDL outlined plans to invest £13.6m in its network during the coming season. A further £4.1m will be allocated by March 2025 as part of a broader £40m strategy aimed at improving infrastructure, sustainability and service standards over the next five years.

Otium, meaning ‘leisure time’ in Latin, is designed to add significant value and flexibility to members’ boating experience. Berth holders and visitors can earn points on every pound spent with MDL, which can then be redeemed for savings on berthing, fuel, storage and luxury experiences. With over 30 partners, including the five-star Harbour Hotel at Ocean Village Marina, Mediterranean at Bray Marina and MDL’s Musto Store, Otium offers a number of ways for members to personalise their rewards.

Joining Otium is free. Berth holders automatically become members as part of their berthing package, while non-members can join for free at the visitor level.
