Miami Boat Show: Honda unveils 7 new outboard motors
Honda has introduced seven new large-displacement outboard motor models – BF250, BF225, BF200, BF150, BF140, BF135 and BF115 – at the 2025 Miami International Boat Show, which kicked off yesterday (12 February) and runs until Sunday in Miami, Florida.
Honda says these models will be gradually released in Japan, North America, Europe and Asia starting in mid-2025.
The new models feature an updated design, influenced by the “Noble Motion Form” concept introduced with the BF350, Honda’s flagship outboard model.
These engines incorporate technologies aimed at improving vessel control. A new flush-mount electronic throttle (DBW) includes an ergonomic grip designed to enable smoother and more precise handling. A 7-inch multifunction display provides access to operational data. Additional features include Cruise Control for speed adjustments and a Trim Support Function that modifies trim angle based on engine RPM and boat speed, and Automatic Tilt Function that facilitates full up/down tilt adjustment.
The BF250, BF225 and BF200 models are equipped with an oxygen sensor to enhance air-fuel ratio management, improving fuel efficiency and reducing emissions. An oil-leak prevention mechanism has been added to prevent spillage during oil filter changes.
Honda continues to offer its Aquamarine Silver Metallic finish while introducing a new Grand Prix White colour option.
The news comes the same week that merger talks between Honda and Nissan collapsed after the firms failed to agree on a multi-billion-dollar tie-up.
