Naked body of ‘inexperienced’ round the world sailor found

THE naked dead body of a British window cleaner trying to sail solo around the world has been found on his yacht, according to The Sun.

Mark Brennan, 42, from South Shields had not been seen for nearly two months. According to maritime website Boatwatch, he was last seen leaving a marina in Grenada on 6th December.

The boat, Avrio, was spotted 71 nautical miles from the Jamaican coast, where coastguards found a naked and decomposed body in the hull. The boat was towed to Port Antonio where Jamaican police are trying to establish how he died, and investigating whether any foul play was involved in his death.

Northumbria Police said: “A formal identification process is ongoing but it is suspected that the body is that of the South Shields man.”
