Nautor Swan debuts Swan 80 and unveils new Swan 73

Nautor Swan has kicked off the Cannes Yachting Festival with the world premiere of the Swan 80, the latest model in the Maxi Swan stable, and the unveiling of the latest Swan 73, which is now in production ahead of a 2027 world debut.
New CEO Gianguido Girotti, appointed earlier this summer, also made his first public appearance in his new role in Cannes. With the brand having joined the Sanlorenzo Group two years ago, Girotti shared more about the yard’s vision and its progress under Sanlorenzo’s stewardship.

According to Girotti, the evolution of the Swan portfolio will therefore be measured rather than radical with plans to broaden while preserving the principles that distinguish the brand.
Girotti’s career began at the studio of Germán Frers, where he developed an appreciation for the subtle relationship between naval architecture, performance and enduring elegance. He subsequently gained experience across the sailing yacht industry, building a perspective that now informs his vision for Nautor Swan.
Moored at Port Canto, the Swan 80 is joined by the ocean-going Swan 58, one of the most accomplished yachts in the current fleet. The Swan 73 is progressing through construction ahead of her world premiere at Cannes in 2027, and was presented for the first time to media.
New models will seek to offer new ways of living at sea while retaining the Swan character.
The company has set out a deliberately simple philosophy: ‘not to become bigger, but to become more relevant’.
Last year, the Finnish yacht brand outlined its latest development plans, including plans for a new facility in Florida and €35m investment commitments.
Swan 80: the latest Maxi Swan
The Swan 80 is the latest and most compact expression of Nautor Swan’s Maxi design – bringing the character and sailing credentials of the larger Maxi Swan models into a 24-metre format.
The Swan 80 shares the design team behind the Swan 88, Swan 108 and Swan 128, with Germán Frers responsible for naval architecture, Lucio Micheletti for exterior design and Misa Poggi for the interiors.
Particular attention has been given to the relationship between the yacht’s social and sailing spaces. The expansive cockpit, with twin tables, generous seating and shelter from the sprayhood, bimini and awning, is conceived for life on board.
With no winches or running rigging within the guest area, the space is designed to feel uncluttered and relaxed, allowing guests to enjoy the yacht in complete comfort while under sail.
Below deck, hand-finished timbers, refined fabrics, polished metal and leather detailing create an atmosphere of warmth and quiet sophistication.
Swan 73: a return to the 70ft class
Alongside the Swan 80, Nautor Swan offered a first glimpse of the Swan 73, now in production.
Designed by Germán Frers with interiors by Blend Studio, the Swan 73 marks the brand’s return to the 70ft segment after more than two decades.
The design is aimed at a contemporary owner seeking the volume, comfort and sophistication of a larger yacht without surrendering the pleasure of sailing with a minimal crew. Designed to be operated with just two crew, the yacht features generous living spaces combined with a performance hull.
