New technical assurance director at BMT

BMT, the international design, engineering, science and risk management consultancy, has appointed Catriona Savage to technical assurance director, responsible for the company’s global technical authority. Savage rejoins BMT from a role as the chair in naval architecture and an honorary professor at University College London. Previously, she was the technical director for BMT’s UK defence business.

Savage comments on her appointment: “I am really excited about returning to BMT. In particular, I am looking forward to having the opportunity to work across the breadth of the organisation, with the diversity of people and technical capabilities we have internationally. I see a key part of my role as continuing to develop excellence across the group through leading and facilitating collaboration and communication across our extremely capable, global, technical team.”

Savage is a trustee of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects, deputy chair of UKNEST and vice chair of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST) Naval Engineering Special Interest Group.

Savage is a chartered engineer, a fellow of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects, and a member of IMarEST, the Institute of Directors and the Royal Corps of Naval Constructors.
