Newport International Boat Show acquired
Informa Markets’ South Florida Ventures has acquired the Newport International Boat Show (NIBS) from the Newport Restaurant Group, adding the show to its growing portfolio of boating and yachting events.
NIBS is a premier boat show in the Northeast region of the US, with more than 600 exhibitors and the largest in-water display in New England. The show has a 53-year history in the city and spans more than 13 acres of downtown Newport, Rhode Island, while showcasing power and sailboats, marine accessories, products and services.
South Florida Ventures has seen rapid expansion over the past five years, acquiring and launching specialised businesses and brands catering to the luxury lifestyle sector, including most recently, the Miami International Boat Show.
Already the producer of successful shows, including the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, Palm Beach International Boat Show, the St. Petersburg Power and Sailboat Show, and the Suncoast Boat Show under their belt, the South Florida Ventures team is looking to take the Newport International Boat Show to the next level.

In 2023, NIBS was held under dark skies amid the threat of Hurricane Lee, with organisers confirming a downturn in gate attendance compared to 2022.
The 2024 NIBS event will take place from September 12-15, with tickets going on sale to the public on 1 June 2024.
