Next Yacht Group debuts offline AI assistant for yachts

Owner of AB Yachts and Maiora brands, Next Yacht Group, has announced its Next AI-Integrated System, the first artificial intelligence (AI) platform designed for yachts that operates offline.

The new development was presented in a world premiere aboard the AB 110 during the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS).

Brought to life thanks to a collaboration with AI Technologies and YES Group, the Next AI-Integrated System functions as an intelligent digital assistant that communicates directly with the yacht’s onboard systems.

The system provides operational data, including fuel and water levels, energy usage, alarms, and maintenance schedules. Owners and crew can interact with the AI through the new proprietary My AB and My Maiora apps to manage various systems, including lighting, climate, entertainment, and other functions.

Unlike relying on traditional cloud-based assistance, the system functions autonomously on board, with all data and operations processed locally. The firm also emphasises that this approach results in data privacy, security, and reliability, with no dependency on the internet or external services. However, optional 5G/WAN connectivity is available for remote, read-only access if desired.

Giorgio Mattei, deputy chairman of Next Yacht Group, says: “With this highly innovative project, we are redefining the onboard experience. For the owner, luxury means simplicity and control. We’re offering an assistant that works anytime, anywhere – even in the middle of the ocean, without internet – safely, continuously, and reliably.

“It’s an artificial intelligence that belongs to the yacht and its family, not to the cloud. Our approach is local-first: data, models, and decisions remain on board. The AI provides verifiable answers, secure commands, and deep integration with the yacht’s systems. In our development roadmap, we plan to introduce new features and services, such as always-on voice activation with a dedicated wake word, and predictive maintenance.”

The new system will be available across the AB Yachts and Maiora ranges, beginning in 2026, and aims to continue Next Yacht Group’s push toward digital transformation.
