Nimbus appoints first dealers for Alukin in the US

Nimbus Group has signed agreements with its first two dealers for the Alukin brand in the USA. The move comes as Alukin, , which manufactures robust aluminium boats, aims to establish itself in the American market with a focus on the workboat sector.

“We see great opportunities for Alukin in the American market, which traditionally has a large segment within workboats. In general, we also notice an increased interest in the type of boat that Alukin offers, both from various government activities and private individuals, and it is our stated strategic ambition to utilize Alukin’s boats to expand within these very interesting segments,” says Jan-Erik Lindström, CEO of Nimbus Group.

The newly appointed dealers are Castaway Yacht Sales in Port Clinton, Ohio, and Mountain Motors Marine in Hague, New York. Through the two dealers’ geographical locations next to Lake Erie and Lake George, Alukin gains exposure to two large and attractive motorboat areas. Both dealers are already dealers of boats from EdgeWater Power Boat, a company that has been part of the Nimbus Group since 2023, and offer a complete range of various marine services, including sales, storage, and service.

In November 2024, Alukin vessels were showcased for the first time at Fort Lauderdale International Boats Show.

The appointment of its first US dealers follows Alukin’s venture into workboats, which led to last year’s record order for workboats for the Swedish Armed Forces.

In autumn 2024, the Swedish Armed Forces, through the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration, FMV, placed their order for Alukin’s fully welded aluminum boats. The agreement with FMV includes the delivery of boats and spare parts for up to 15 years and has a total value for Nimbus Group of up to SEK 400 million. The boat, MSMB 200, is a 10-metre vessel with a powerful inboard engine that can transport two crew members and eight passengers with luggage.

In January 2025, Nimbus Group signed a dealer agreement with Grimstad Bådsenter AS to expand the distribution of Alukin brand boats in Norway’s Agder region.
