The Marina Industries Association (MIA) has announced that Ocean Marina Jomtien, located in the Gulf of Thailand in Pattaya, has received Platinum 5 Gold Anchor accreditation. This designation, one of the most prestigious in the industry, is given to marinas that meet a comprehensive set of criteria across facilities, services and amenities.

Ocean Marina Jomtien has over 450 berths designed to accommodate yachts up to 75m, along with full vessel maintenance facilities supported by a range of marine trades and service providers. It is the largest marina in southeast Asia and a key location for yachting in the Gulf of Thailand. The marina has also been accredited as a Superyacht Ready Marina, making it one of only four in Asia to receive this recognition.

MIA president Andrew Chapman, who has visited the marina on multiple occasions, says: “In addition to its berthing and maintenance services, this impressive marina complex incorporates a full-service resort including a 76-room hotel, an array of food and beverage options and high-quality leisure facilities including indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a gymnasium, steam rooms and saunas. Business needs can even be taken care of on the go, with access to a full range of business services, including meeting spaces.”

Marina manager Scott Finsten describes the accreditation as a significant milestone, stating: “We have worked very hard for this. I am so very proud; this is a tremendous achievement for our team. We examined every one of the 86 criteria assessed and set about determining what we needed to do to meet the Platinum 5 Gold Anchor standard for each one. It was a great way to analyse our operations, but importantly, it was a wonderful bonding experience for the team to work together to pursue this goal. It is wonderful for them all to share in this great achievement.”

Napong Paripontpochanapisuti, managing director of Ocean Property Co. Ltd, says, “We are very proud to be Thailand’s first Platinum 5 Gold Anchor marina. While we are very proud to be recognised for our facilities, we appreciate that it is our team who deliver what is most important, and that is a very high level of personalised service, and we are very proud and grateful to them.”

As part of the Gold Anchor assessment, an independent survey of berth holders was conducted, with the marina receiving a 97 per cent satisfaction rating.

The Platinum 5 Gold Anchor accreditation will be formally presented at the 2025 Nautilus Marine Insurance Marina of the Year Awards on 6 May in Sydney.

Ocean Marina Jomtien has also received International Clean Marina accreditation and has taken the Marine Sustainability Pledge in recognition of its environmental initiatives.
