Oyster Yachts has opened a new service centre in Barcelona to support the growing number of Oyster owners in the Mediterranean.

More than 45 yachts are now based in the city, which has become a key wintering location for owners seeking an alternative to Palma. The new facility provides refit, maintenance, engineering and guardianage services, extending Oyster’s service network across the region.

The opening took place on 31 October 2025 at the Oyster Barcelona workshop and was attended by the company’s leadership team, suppliers, captains and industry partners. The event was also attended by members of the local marina community in Premià de Mar. The new facility currently employs 13 people, and offers a range of services including weekly checks, winter washdowns, guardianage packages, technical inspections and custom detailing.

Stefan Zimmermann Zschocke, CEO of Oyster Yachts says: “Barcelona has quickly become a key hub for Oyster owners, with more than 45 Oyster yachts now based here through the winter season.

“With a very well-protected harbour, exclusive berthing for Oyster yachts and trusted technical partners on our doorstep, it offers an ideal base for refit, service and preparation for Mediterranean cruising or longer-range voyages, whether across the Atlantic or around the world.”

The Barcelona Service Centre joins Oyster’s existing hubs in Palma, Antigua and Newport (US). Services include refit and maintenance, engineering, guardianage, custom cleaning, teak treatments, tender care and tailored service packages. Tender storage and maintenance are also available.

Oyster Yachts is a British sailing yacht builder that has produced bluewater sailing vessels for over 50 years. Each yacht is built in the UK using traditional craftsmanship and modern production techniques. The company’s fleet has logged more than 20m sailing miles and completed over 100 circumnavigations.
