Oyster Yachts introduces the 805 model and expands owner support with training and curated cruising programmes

British boatbuilder Oyster Yachts has announced further details of its new 80ft model and several ownership-focused initiatives during its recent London Private View event, held at St Katharine Docks.

During the showcase, the firm formally revealed the Oyster 805 yacht along with a new Explorers Club — a programme of supported sailing routes designed to facilitate access to remote destinations, following the format of the Oyster World Rally.

The team at Oyster highlighted how important experiential branding was to the future of its business and how pivotal the World Rally has become for clients and purchasers.

The Oyster 805, scheduled for launch in 2027, is designed in collaboration with frequent collaborator Humphreys Yacht Design. Oyster says it incorporates elements from previous Oyster models along with new styling, features and layout options.

Oyster recently published financial results for FY 2024/25, reporting a return to profitability and continued growth.

Four bluewater sailing yachts were presented at the showcase in London: the Oyster 565, 595, 675 and 885 Series II. Visitors also attended masterclasses on bluewater sailing, covering topics such as ocean weather, high-latitude navigation, downwind sail configurations and remote cruising opportunities.

In addition to the 805 unveiling, Oyster CEO Ashley Highfield introduced new initiatives intended to expand Oyster’s services to owners including the Explorers Club.

Highfield also introduced The Bluewater Academy, which provides customised training to yacht owners. Instruction is delivered by professional sailors and tailored to individual experience levels, with training taking place on board Oyster yachts.

In addition, he revealed that the Oyster 595 Series II has also been updated. The latest version of the 60-foot model features revised styling, including larger hull ports and wider seascape windows, new interior elements and updated onboard technology.

Highfield says: “The launch of our Explorers Club, Bluewater Academy, and the Oyster 805 will open a world of adventure to new and existing owners, offering unparalleled opportunities to explore the most remote and extraordinary destinations across the globe.

“These initiatives are designed to empower our owners to embark on unforgettable journeys – whether they are seasoned sailors or new to the world of bluewater cruising.”
