Pantaenius to sponsor Falmouth Fowey Triangle race weekend

Pantaenius says it is proud to be sponsoring The Pantaenius Falmouth Fowey Triangle race weekend from 29th – 31st May 2021. The triangle race historically sets sail on the first Bank Holiday weekend in May but has been postponed due to covid to the month’s end, with Plymouth to Falmouth on Saturday 29, Falmouth to Fowey on Sun 30th and Plymouth to Fowey on Mon 31st.

“We are delighted to announce that Pantaenius UK Ltd have once again agreed to support our annual Falmouth/Fowey Triangle Race and we would like to thank them for their continued support,” says Claire Adams from Royal Western Yacht Club (RWYC), organisers of the race.

RWYC says yacht racing is a major part of its sailing calendar, with racing staged throughout the year from April to December. The club aims to make eligibility as all-inclusive as possible and says it constantly reviews the handicap bases to ensure as broader appeal as possible.

“This hugely popular three day race kicks off the season for many sailors from Plymouth and further afield,” says Adams. “The success of this event is due to the perfect combination of competitive sailing and its fantastic social side with yachties enjoying the best of local hospitality in the different ports in the evenings. The daily prize givings bring competitors together and add to the enjoyable atmosphere of this fun event.”

According to commodore Chris Arscott: “The support of Pantaenius enables us to enhance these events to attract more sailors and raises its profile within the yachting community.”
