The Foiling Organization and the Italian Marine Industry Association (Confindustria Nautica) are planning to establish a new annual event dedicated to foiling technology.
The Foiling Organization established its headquarters in Genoa in 2024.
Foiling was a focal point at the 65th Genoa International Boat Show, reflecting the rapid progress of the technology and its expanding role in the global marine industry.
Indeed, a foiling feature joined the lineup at the Southampton International Boat Show in 2024, and organisers of boot Düsseldorf joined forces with The Foiling Organization to create a Foiling World in 2025. The first World Foiling Congress took place in Italy in April 2024. Metstrade partnered with The Foiling Organization to bring a new Foiling Technology Pavilion (FTP) to the trade show in 2023.
Recognising this momentum, the Italian Marine Industry Association has tasked its vice president, Fabio Planamente, with defining how to better integrate the foiling segment into its annual programme. Following initial consultations, the association and The Foiling Organization say they have confirmed plans to create a recurring event focused exclusively on foiling.

The project aims to support the development of advanced foiling solutions for both power and sailing sectors by improving broader understanding of industry requirements and fostering relationships with shipyards.
“The Foiling Organization has been working for over a decade to advance both the industrial and the sporting dimensions of foiling,” says Luca Rizzotti, president of The Foiling Organization. “Our association brings together leading global players — including Italy’s three main yacht builders — and we believe the future of foiling lies in establishing a dedicated Expo.
“With the support of the Italian Marine Industry Association, and the collaboration of regional and municipal institutions already alongside us for the World Foiling Congress and the Foiling Awards, we can turn this vision into a major opportunity for the global foiling industry.”
At the 65th Genoa International Boat Show, The Foiling Organization presented a 200-square-metre exhibition in collaboration with the show’s organisers, giving 124,000 visitors access to displays featuring boats, boards, models, components and videos, alongside talks and live demonstrations from foiling professionals.
Working with partners including Waterfront Sailing Club Genova, Drylaps, Fliteboard, North Sails and North Actionsports Group, the organisation also held six days of on-water trials, showcasing both sailing and electric foiling craft.
The Foiling Organization’s participation in the Genoa event was supported by the Italian Marine Industry Association, commercial partners Ropner and Pindar by Manuport Logistics, technical partners Waterfront Sailing Club Genova, Drylaps and Henoto, and exhibitors Fliteboard, North Sails, North Actionsports Group, E1 Series, Persico Marine, Sangiorgio Marine, Bluegame, Skeeta Watersports and Birdyfish.
