Poole Harbour Commissioners launch a range of collectable Harbour Dues and Permits

Although functional, traditionally Harbour Dues have been known to be a little bland. This is why Poole Harbour Commissioners (PHC) have launched a range of new stickers with vibrant, colourful designs to celebrate specific landmarks found around Poole harbour.

The idea was the brainchild of the team at StickerGizmo.com, a sticker company based in Poole in Dorset. As keen sailors, the team are passionate about the harbour and recognised that this would be a great way to showcase the beautiful coastline found on their doorstep.

By focusing on a different landmark of the harbour and changing the colour each year, the new designs are more appealing for PHC’s customers. It will also make it much easier for the Harbour Master and his team to spot from a distance, this will help them to easily identify if boats are displaying a valid dues sticker, and with thousands of boat and jet ski owners using Poole Harbour each year this is an important consideration.

The 2019 stickers all follow a red theme and celebrates Poole Quay and the new water ski permit has been made significantly more visible with an illustration of a water skier. The personal water craft stickers have been cut into the shape of a jet-ski, this makes them very easy to spot from a distance on smaller watercraft.

Natasha Gama, Moorings Administrator, Poole Harbour Commissioners, says: “Harbour Dues need to be displayed port side, so it makes sense for them to standout and be attractive as possible. Their modern fresh design is proving very popular and is a fabulous way to celebrate the outstanding beauty of the harbour, which we are so proud of. There’s even talk of the decals becoming collectables.”

Alistair Tillen, Chairman, Sticker Gizmo, says: “It is a great feeling seeing our stickers and designs out on the water in Europe’s largest natural harbour! We look forward to working with PHC to see more of our designs launched in the coming years.”
