Rockley Watersports grows its educational offering with new vocational training

Rockley Watersports’ educational section of the business, Rockley Education, has further increased their tuition offering at the main UK Training centre in Poole.

Rockley Education has added the NCFE Level 2 Diploma in Sport, offering even more students the opportunity to start their outdoor careers.

The unique vocational training starting this September, is a brand new, one-year course for students aged 16 years and over. It will include theory units, practical activities, NGB qualifications and opportunities for RYA training and work experience.

Rockley Watersports MD, Pip Woods says: “Rockley, established in 1976, has up to ten years’ experience in delivering unique further education programmes including BTEC Level 3 Sport. I am proud to have seen the education programme grow and develop over the years with many students starting their careers staying within the leisure outdoor industry or going off to university.”

Last year over a quarter of a million learners, from over 2000 education and training organisations, chose NCFE as the awarding body to help them advance their learning and career goals.

Rockley Education, Head of Education Clare Hicks comments on the addition of the new course: “I am delighted to be able to add a Level 2 course to our educational programmes at Rockley. This really does allow for even more students than ever before to come and get involved in what we do and start their journey on to a career in the outdoors. This is super exciting for us and for the learners!”

Further education certificates and diplomas are growing in popularity as they open new doors into rewarding careers in STEM, health, sport, business, IT, creatives and more. 90% of employers say they want people with a mix of academic and vocational qualifications.

NCFE is recognised as an awarding organisation by the qualification regulators for England, Wales and Northern Ireland, including Ofqual, the Welsh government, and the CCEA in Northern Ireland.
