Sacs Tecnorib, an Italian maxi-RIB specialist, has unveiled Mar Garrente, a sculptural piece created by Italian yacht designer Christian Grande, made from Bianco Altissimo marble provided by Henraux, and inspired by a Sport Coupé boat.

In a statement, Italian RIB builder Sacs Tecnorib says the artwork explores the connection between nautical design and sculptural form.

The Christian Grande sculpture was presented at an event held at Henraux’s historic headquarters in Querceta, northern Italy.

Grande, a long-time collaborator with Sacs Tecnorib, says he designed the piece to reflect the synergy between fluid forms and structural precision. “[The challenge] was to capture the distinctive stylistic codes of the brand and translate them into an iconic symbol,” he adds, saying the piece is designed to convey a sense of speed, energy and dependability.

The Christian Grande sculpture Mar Garrente was crafted using Bianco Altissimo marble, a material known for its purity and association with historical works. The project was facilitated by Henraux, an Italian specialist in high-end marble processing.

The unveiling event was attended by industry professionals, designers and representatives from Sacs Tecnorib.

“We sought a design work that would recount our story while looking ahead,” says Nicola Antonelli, chief marketing officer of Sacs Tecnorib. “The choice of marble, a timeless material, symbolises enduring value, while its carved lines evoke the power of wind and sea, mirroring the essence of our boats.”

Sacs Tecnorib — formed in 2021 following an integration of Sacs and Tecnorib — is known for its Pirelli-branded speedboats and tenders, as well as the Rebel and Strider lines.

In November, the firm sold a minority stake to Nuo, an investment holding company backed by international investors.

The agreement involves maintaining the governance structure, with Matteo Magni retaining majority control and continuing as both president and CEO. The firm has not shared the financial details of the agreement. Leading Italian financial paper Il Sole 24 Ore reported that Nuo acquired a 32 per cent stake in the firm by a transfer of shares to the fund.
