Sanguineti expands production with new headquarters

Nautical equipment manufacturer Sanguineti, part of Quick Group, has relocated to new headquarters in Casarza Ligure, Italy. The facility covers 8,000 square metres and incorporates €1.6m worth of new equipment alongside a restructured layout designed to improve efficiency and support production growth.

Quick Group says this move will make it easier to coordinate across departments, both within Sanguineti and with other companies in the Quick Group.

Sanguineti has reported a 48 per cent increase in revenue from 2022 to 2023, with its revenues forecast to triple by 2026. The relocation aims to support this growth trajectory and will see ongoing recruitment to the facility.

Founded in 1958, Sanguineti designs and manufactures equipment for the yacht and superyacht sector. Its products include gangways, swim platforms, tender cranes, lifts, multifunctional ladders, retractable capstans and director-style chairs, many of which are found on vessels dating back decades.

Following its acquisition by Quick Group in 2023, the company has invested over €4m in the Casarza Ligure site, including approximately €3m for infrastructure and €1.6m for new machinery. The new location is a few kilometres south of its previous base in Chiavari, near Genoa.

The new facility includes newly installed CNC milling machines, water-jet cutters and lathes, all integrated digitally with the design office, as well as a paint shop.

“Sanguineti has a long and incredible history, and its reputation for producing equipment engineered and finished with true craftsmanship has always been strong – however, the production capabilities in terms of output were always a little limited with the original facility in Chiavari,” says Simone Lorenzano, who was appointed managing director of Sanguineti in February 2025.

“With our acquisition by Quick Group came exciting opportunities for development and investment in a custom-designed new HQ and production facility, twice the size of the Chiavari site. This new location is close enough to the original site to ensure we could retain our artisanal workforce and stay near many of the major Italian superyacht shipyards we supply, while also enabling closer collaboration with our partner companies under the Quick Group umbrella.”

The facility meets Industry 4.0 standards, which have contributed to shorter production lead times. Lorenzano says: “We are now fully compliant with Industry 4.0 standards, which has had a huge impact on reducing the production lead time for individual components. But just as importantly, the system has been implemented in a way that preserves our artisanal identity. What we produce isn’t industrial or mass-manufactured — these are one-offs or limited run pieces. Each part, each cylinder, each component of a gangway or a crane we build is almost a unique piece.”

Sanguineti is broadening its market focus to include larger vessels. “Sanguineti’s current core market is superyachts in the 30- to 60-metre range, but we are already looking to work on even larger yachts,” Lorenzano says. “With our new machinery and expanded production capabilities, we have the capacity to work on projects of 80 metres or more. It’s in our DNA, and we’re determined to keep evolving. The move to Casarza Ligure is another exciting step on that path.”
