Cannes 2025: Sanlorenzo shows three premieres, confirms new flagship

Sanlorenzo Cannes conference 2025 CEO Massimo Perotti addresses press at Cannes

Sanlorenzo is presenting three world premieres at Cannes Yachting Festival, marking 20 years under chairman and chief executive officer Massimo Perotti’s leadership. The company also outlined its plans for growth, product development and sustainability during a press call in Cannes and confirmed details of its new flagship.

The company confirmed its new flagship, the 74Steel, will be launched in October 2025 and said a new concept “combining heritage and technology” will be unveiled before the end of the year.

Sanlorenzo is exhibiting ten yachts in Cannes’ Vieux Port with a combined length of nearly 300m, including the global premieres of the SL110A, SX120 and SD132.

Sanlorenzo also issued an update on its ‘Road to 2030’ pathway, which includes the delayed development of bi-fuel green methanol propulsion for the 50 X-Space.

For the first half of 2025, Sanlorenzo reported net revenues from new yachts of €454m, up 9.4 per cent compared to the same period in 2024. EBITDA increased 8.5 per cent to €80.5m with a margin of 17.7 per cent. The order backlog stood at €1.44bn at 30 June, driven by demand for yachts above 30m and growth following the acquisition of Nautor Swan. Sanlorenzo has reaffirmed its 2025 financial guidance, targeting revenues of about €1bn. In 2004, when Perotti joined, revenues stood at €42m.

Perotti says: “The stability and measured growth achieved in the first half of 2025 reflect the resilience of Sanlorenzo, the strength of our brand, and the timeless desirability of our yachts. Our order intake — particularly for yachts of 30 metres and above — confirms the vitality of our made-to-measure philosophy, our scarcity-driven model, and the success of our strategic entry into sailing with Nautor Swan.”

He adds: “Here in Cannes, we’re proud to debut three new Sanlorenzo yachts, alongside new launches from Nautor Swan and Bluegame, presenting the most complete and coveted monobrand portfolios in their segments. Further premieres will follow in the final quarter – including a new concept for Sanlorenzo that embodies our pursuit of everlasting beauty and innovation, and the first delivery of the 74Steel – our largest yacht ever crafted, and a milestone embodying Sanlorenzo’s position at the pinnacle of the category.”

At the festival, Sanlorenzo is presenting the SX120, designed by Zuccon International Project with interiors by Piero Lissoni. This yacht combines the features of a flybridge with those of an explorer vessel.

The SL110A, also designed by Zuccon International Project with interiors by Piero Lissoni, is the latest in Sanlorenzo’s asymmetric line, with a wide-body owner’s suite and a top speed of 27 knots. The SD132, measuring 40.7m, is the largest composite yacht built by Sanlorenzo. It includes a reconfigured beach club with rotating terraces, a forward sunbathing area with a transparent pool, an 85sq m flybridge and a side garage.

Other models on display include SP92, SL86A, SL90A, SD90, SD96, SX100 and SX88. Bluegame is premiering the BGF45, a multihull with a foil-assisted system derived from the BGH-HSV, a hydrogen-powered tender built for the 2024 America’s Cup. Nautor Swan will show the Swan 51, a 15.5m performance cruiser developed from over 70 yachts built since 2019 in the 14.6–16.8m range. It revives the legacy of the Swan 51, first introduced in 1981.

50 X-Space launch delayed

Sanlorenzo confirmed that, as part of its ‘Road to 2030’ plan, it has completed development of green methanol bi-fuel propulsion technology for the 50 X-Space. However, the launch has been delayed from 2027 to “later in the decade”, when the firm expects the availability of green methanol – and the required surrounding infrastructure – “to be more widely available.”

Future projects discussed at the press conference included Bluegame’s BGX83 flagship, further expansion of Sanlorenzo’s asymmetric range and new concepts from Nautor Swan.

Founded in 1958, Sanlorenzo builds custom motor yachts and superyachts over 24m in length. Since 2005, it has expanded production across six shipyards in Italy. The group includes Bluegame and Nautor Swan.

In 2019, the company was listed on the Euronext STAR Milan. In 2024, it delivered the first 50Steel superyacht with an onboard fuel cell system and launched hydrogen-powered Bluegame tenders for the America’s Cup. That year, it also acquired Nautor Swan and Simpson Marine.
