savvy navvy appoints ex-Google marketer as CMO
Marine technology company Savvy Navvy has appointed US-based Alex Ostler as its new chief marketing officer (CMO) as its continues to scale up its growth.
“As we enter the next phase of our business, it’s the right time to build our executive team starting with the chief marketing officer role with the main focus of further accelerating our growth,” says Jelte Liebrand, CEO and founder of Savvy Navvy.
“Now in our seventh year here at Savvy Navvy, we are actively shaping the marine industry for the better and challenging the bigger navigation apps in the market. Alex has a wealth of experience, has spent years at Google and has expertise in marketing for high-growth start-ups. We’re super excited to have her on board.”
Based in Colorado, Ostler has more than two decades of marketing experience, starting her career in Google Maps, before working with and scaling growth for tech startups.

Alongside its new CMO, the boating app has also grown its engineering team, appointing two new developers based in Berlin and Poland.
Often referred to as ‘Google maps for boats’, Savvy Navvy rolled out its new and improvedV2 of the app earlier this year (June 2023), incorporating new and enhanced features including a navigation mode, anchor alarm upgrade, clouds and rain overlay and wind gust features.
