SCIBS 2024: Riviera debuts flagship 6800 Sport Yacht

Riviera 6800 Sport Yacht launch at SCIBS 2024.

Riviera revealed its new flagship 6800 Sport Yacht on the eve of the 2024 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show.

This year’s edition of SCIBS, the largest boat show in the southern hemisphere, runs from 23-26 May 2024 on Australia’s Gold Coast.

“To be successful on the highly competitive global stage of luxury boat building, you must have an absolute commitment to design, innovation, quality and owner care,” Riviera owner Rodney Longhurst told the assembled guests during the launch last night (22 May 2024). “And that’s what our amazing team in Australia and the United States do every day, creating a truly world-class luxury motor yacht experience.

“This new 6800 Sport Yacht is our ultimate Sport Yacht. With a choice of three or four staterooms and three bathrooms, a crew cabin or utility room, a full-height walk-through engine room, huge entertaining and living spaces, an all-weather aft deck, expansive sun-loving forward deck, and an impressive tender garage devoted to water sports, it is one magnificent motor yacht.”

Riviera’s 6800 Sport Yacht is designed with numerous separate entertaining areas where family groups, friends, and couples can all find their own space. These include the more informal forward deck, the protected aft deck with electric sunroof, the saloon, a choice of three lounges, and another electric sunroof.

An electro-hydraulic swim platform articulates into steps that can be lowered below the water or raised above to match the level of the marina or pontoon, making for easier boarding. Wing doors on the aft deck allow easy, direct access to raised fixed jetties.

The water sports equipment storage of the tender garage has a tender cradle and electric winch system using the descending steps of the swim platform, which will launch and retrieve the tender.

The aft deck is the 6800 Sport Yacht’s entertaining and dining centre. A galley and an extended hardtop with sunroof provide all-weather protection. A guest lounge extends across the width of the transom, and forward to port is an L-shaped lounge dining area with seating for eight or more.

The wide side decks guide you to the forward deck, a casual entertaining sundeck with a sound system, two sunbeds and outdoor lounge with seating for eight.

The aft deck flows into the saloon creating one living and entertaining space with a U-shaped galley and bar/serving station.

Lowering the window blinds creates a cinema room with premium sound system and a large LED TV rising at the press of a button. If more seating is required, the companion helm chair turns 180 degrees to accommodate.

The yacht has four staterooms, three bathrooms, and a utility or crew cabin. A three-stateroom layout with the starboard guest cabin replaced by a lower lounge with an LED TV is also an option.

The full-beam master suite has a king-sized walk-around island bed and two-seater lounge, while the forward VIP stateroom has a private ensuite bathroom and walk-around queen-sized bed. The portside guest stateroom can be two single beds or one double at the touch of a button.

The starboard guest stateroom adds two adult-sized single berths overlapping at 90 degrees. Guests share the ensuite bathroom of the port stateroom via the day-head entry with privacy locks.

Owners can select from a range of custom options, including Starlink high-speed internet and Praxis solar charging systems, plus Volvo Penta Assisted Docking system. Factory-fitted stabilisation is also available.

The yacht is powered by twin Volvo Penta D13 IPS 1350s, rated at 1000hp (735kW).
