Sea Ray will showcase its first European-built surf boat at the 56th Boot Düsseldorf international boat show, running 18–26 January 2025.

The boat show will host the European premiere of the SDX 270 Surf, and the launch of European production of the boat. Sea Ray is a Brunswick-owned business, and while the parent company suffered a downturn in 2024, CEO David Foulkes said in April that the “Sea Ray businesses demonstrated exceptional retail performance at early boat shows with new models supporting market share gains.”

“We are excited to introduce the SDX 270 Surf to the European market,” says Keith Yunger, president of Sea Ray. “Our redesigned SDX line bridges the gap across generations bringing families together to enjoy a day on the water. The popularity of wake surfing continues to grow, and we are pleased to use the spotlight of Dusseldorf to highlight our entrance into surf boat production in Europe, and to showcase our exceptional 2025 Sea Ray lineup.”

The SDX series is Sea Ray’s latest model lineup to receive a keel-up redesign. The SDX 270 Surf model was first introduced in the US in 2024.

The SDX 270 Surf features Sea Ray’s intuitive NextWave surf system that generates repeatable, rideable waves for wakesurfing and other watersports. The vessel’s transom is tapered to produce a clean wave while electric surf tabs, active trim and three ballast tanks featuring 1,900lbs of ballast control the height of the wave and produce a long or short pocket. The boat is also equipped with a Sea Ray custom surf interface powered by Mercury Smart Tow featuring three pre-set modes for surfing, wakeboarding and skiing/tubing, or boaters can use the visual display to adjust the settings with the touch of a button to accommodate riders of all skill levels. The SDX 270 Surf has built-in storage and coolers, convertible seating and premium amenities. The addition of a bow thruster further assists in maneuverability and smooth and effortless docking.

Also on display in the Sea Ray booth will be the acclaimed Sundancer line of cabin cruisers – with the Sundancer 370, 320 and 265 on display. Sea Ray will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Sundancer series in 2025, signifying a remarkable achievement in Sea Ray’s rich history.

Models from across Sea Ray’s lineup will be on display including the SLX 400, SLX 500, SDX 290, SDX 270, SDX 270 Surf European launch, SDX 250, SDX 250 Outboard, SLX 260, Sun Sport 250, Sun Sport 230, SPX 230, SPX 210, SPX 190 Outboard.
