Sealegs appoints former Rayglass head as CEO

Dave Larsen Sealegs CEO

New Zealand-based Sealegs International, a manufacturer of amphibious boats, has appointed Dave Larsen as its chief executive officer.

Larsen takes on the role following previous experience as chief executive of New Zealand boatbuilder Rayglass Boats, where he became CEO at 35 and oversaw a period of growth and international expansion.

In a statement made to confirm the appointment, Sealegs says that Larsen is expected to apply his industry background and commercial expertise as the company focuses on scaling its international presence, broadening its commercial portfolio and developing its amphibious technology.

Commenting on his appointment, Larsen says, “Sealegs represents the kind of Kiwi ingenuity the world needs more of. It’s an exciting time to lead the business into its next phase – strengthening our product offering, dealer network and global reach.”

The news comes a month after Sealegs International appointed Jack Ewen as its new global sales director.

In 2024, Sealegs relocated a portion of its manufacturing operations to Malaysia, in a bid to address increased manufacturing costs in New Zealand following the pandemic.
