Sertec Marine earns Lloyd’s Register certification for CMCE devices, advancing lightning prevention

Sertec Marine, the Paraguay-based manufacturer of CMCE lighting protection devices, has received approval from Lloyd’s Register for its CMCE Marine devices.
“The Lloyd’s Register approval is a testament to the transformative nature of our CMCE technology,” says Steve Horsley, sales director for Sertec. “We are proud to offer an unrivalled solution that shields vessels from one of the most unpredictable and dangerous forces in nature: lightning.”
The CMCE marine devices, inspired by Nikola Tesla’s work from 1918, offer advanced protection against lightning strikes – a significant safety concern for vessels. The devices reduce the likelihood of lightning strikes by neutralising electrical charges in the surrounding environment, helping safeguard operations.
With this Lloyd’s Register certification, Sertec Marine continues to set benchmarks in maritime safety. This approval comes just 12 months after the firm achieved certification from RINA, making Sertec the only manufacturer accredited by both RINA and Lloyds Register in the field of marine lighting protection.
The CMCE devices are now available for immediate dispatch through Technical Marine Supplies, Sertec Marine’s exclusive UK distributor. The products will also be on display at the upcoming Palma Superyacht Show.
