Shocking sight of containers scattered by wind from mega container ship

Gale-force wind gusts were claimed to be responsible for blowing several containers into the sea and onto the pier in Zeebrugge, Belgium over the weekend, as unloading took place. Fortunately, no one was injured.

Workers were unloading containers at around 7:15 am when a violent gust hit the ship. “The containers had just been detached to be taken off board,” Joke Swyngedouw, spokeswoman for the port told a local newspaper. “Two of them ended up in the water. A few other containers ended up on the quay.

“The containers that ended up in the water could be brought back to the quay by us within an hour.”
