Solé Diesel engines and generators approved for HVO

Solé Diesel at METSTRADE

Solé Diesel has confirmed all its marine engines and generators are now compatible with HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) fuel.

HVO, a renewable and sustainable fuel alternative, holds significant promise in transforming marine propulsion towards cleaner and greener operations.

Barcelona-based Solé Diesel showcased its range of HVO-friendly generators at the 2023 edition of METSTRADE in November.

One of the products on display at METSTRADE this year was the MINI-17 diesel engine. The MINI-17 is a twin-cylinder diesel boat engine with mechanical injection, which performs 16hp at 3.600rpm with 635 cc, manufactured with a Mitsubishi base engine. It is specially designed for sailboats and small fishing boats.

In addition, the firm displayed the 10 GSC marine generator, a single-phase marine generator assembled on a three-cylinder Mitsubishi engine block, which is suitable for leisure boats with larger electrical demand. Both engines are HVO-compatible.

“Solé Diesel reaffirms its dedication to environmental responsibility by making its marine engines and generators compatible with HVO, a low-emission and renewable fuel,” the firm says in a media statement. “The integration of HVO compatibility empowers boat owners with a sustainable and efficient choice for marine propulsion and power generation, contributing to cleaner seas and air.”

Solé Diesel has published detailed information on its products’ HVO compatibility on its blog.
