Southampton International Boat Show introduces new foiling feature
The Southampton International Boat Show has confirmed a new foiling feature for 2024, which joins the lineup on the show’s On the Water Stage.
The sport of wingfoiling is making its debut at the show. National champion Hugo Dobrijevic will showcase aerial performances throughout SIBS 2024, which returns to West Quay Esplanade from 13-22 September 2024.
James Prestwood will also appear, demonstrating flyboard acrobatics with back flips, spins, twists and dives.
Jack Moule is completing the lineup as the four-time national freestyle jet-ski champion, five-time British freestyle champion, and world professional freestyle stuntman.
British Marine, organiser of the Southampton International Boat Show, recently revealed a new layout for 2024, including a new entrance location and a revamped marina layout.
“Prepare yourself for high-octane stunt demos and adrenaline-packed shows, brought to you by our world-class team of extreme sports professionals,” says Mark Ring, head of events. “Breathtaking stunts and heart-stopping action are guaranteed to amaze the whole family. Go to the On the Water Stage and see them unleash their incredible high-flying and mind-boggling tricks.”
Spectators can enjoy the action from the Quarterdeck Bar & Restaurant or for an enhanced experience, visitors can purchase Quayside Club tickets, offering premium views and amenities.
The On the Water Stage shows will take place three times a day, Friday to Sunday, subject to weather conditions.
The Southampton International Boat Show is the UK’s largest boating and water sports festival.
Covering over 70,000 square metres, last year’s show welcomed increased footfall and over 650 craft, with over 350 boats berthed in the marina, an increase of 17 per cent year on year — in spite of the British weather causing havoc mid-week.
The 55th Southampton International Boat Show takes place from 13-22 September 2024. Tickets are now available online.
