Sunseeker International to recruit 40 new apprentices

Poole based superyacht builder, Sunseeker International, will be recruiting recruit 40 new Apprentice Boat Builders to join the team at its shipyards in Dorset, supporting the demand for its latest models and the doubling of the product range from 11 to 22 models over the next three years.

Successful applicants will have the opportunity to launch their career in the UK marine industry, learning to become highly skilled in a range of boat construction disciplines through Sunseeker’s award-winning apprenticeship scheme.

Multiple learning pathways are on offer, including carpentry, composites, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and furniture joinery. Taught over three or four years, the scheme provides paid attendance at the Bournemouth and Poole College’s Marine Technology Centre, alongside funded on-the-job training at its Poole and Portland shipyards.

These new team members will learn the necessary craft skills from experienced boat builders to produce the level of quality and attention-to-detail for which Sunseeker is renowned.”

In 2017, Sunseeker won the Best Apprenticeship Training Scheme at the IBI International Boat Builder Awards.

Applications for the Sunseeker Apprenticeship Scheme are now open and close on 15th March 2020. Applications should be made online by visiting the Sunseeker website.
