Sunseeker unveils ambitious growth plans for 2022
Sunseeker will launch 17 models by the end of 2025, plans a shipyard expansion to accommodate growing demand and has a significant recruitment drive underway.
The projected product plan, revealed in a virtual press conference on 24 January 2022, revealed Sunseeker will release four new models in 2022, which will include the Superhawk 55, Predator 65 and 100 Yacht. This follows the yard making a record number of seven launches in 2021.
The luxury boatbuilder then plans to launch five models in 2023, another four in 2024 and a further four models in 2025.
Speaking at the press conference, Sunseeker sales director Sean Robertson said the new products would not simply be a “rinse and repeat” of what has come before.
Sunseeker’s plan for 2022 includes a ‘signficant’ recruitment drive for trades people, including an increased annual intake of apprentices and graduates, investment in the UK supply chain and shipyard expansion to service the increase in demand and product development.
Sunseeker did not share its 2021 financial results, with chief executive Andrea Frabetti saying the 2021 figures were “still under analysis”.
The yard says it continues to see high volumes of interest from first-time buyers and existing boat owners, with Frabetti noting that the pandemic has created “an industry-wide boom”.
The company plans to continue an ‘extensive boat show presence at key international events’.
