Suzuki GB and Ireland names new managing director

Kazuyuki Yamashita Kazuyuki Yamashita takes over as Suzuki managing director in GB and Ireland

Suzuki GB and Suzuki Republic of Ireland have confirmed a change in managing director, with Takanori Suzuki set to retire and return to Japan at the end of May.

Takanori Suzuki has held the position for the past three years, marking his second term in the role. He previously led the Milton Keynes-based headquarters between 2005 and 2010 before returning to Japan, where he took on leadership responsibilities across Suzuki Europe, Suzuki Oceania and Suzuki Latin America. His career with Suzuki Motor Corporation spans more than four decades.

Kazuyuki Yamashita will succeed him, joining in April from Suzuki Deutschland, where he has served as managing director for the past five years.

Yamashita joined Suzuki Motor Corporation in 1987 and has held roles at its Hamamatsu head office, as well as across domestic and international operations. His previous positions include director, automotive sales at Suzuki Canada from 2001 to 2006, managing director of Suzuki Auto South Africa from 2007 to 2013 and managing director of Suzuki Deutschland from 2021 to 2026.

The company states that Yamashita will take on responsibility for operations in the UK and Republic of Ireland following the transition.
