Technical Marine Supplies adds ‘next-gen’ camera to range

Ulysses camera

The marine distributor Technical Marine Supplies has added Omnisense Systems’ range of ‘next-generation camera systems’ to its range of technical products.

The Ulysses range of rugged and compact premium marine thermal night vision camera systems is said to offer stable, clear imagery, regardless of model. The camera systems are specifically designed for the harsh environment found at sea.

“Having a forward-looking infrared camera that is designed to withstand the forces found aloft at sea is a problem solved for our customers, and being able to offer a variety of colour finishes in AwlGrip paint gives our non-leisure clients a suitably finished product”, Nick Cook, Sales Manager for TMS says. “We are already seeing positive feedback from lead electrical designers, and having the Ulysses cameras being fully compatible with all makes of MFD is a great benefit to our OEM clients too.”

Micro

The smallest offering from the range of Ulysses camera offers a single thermal lens, with low power consumption, 4x zoom and radar tracking. The three models on offer are the Micro, Micro S and the Micro S+, each with a different focal length, with the S models having built-in stabilisation.

Mini

Both the Mini and the Mini+ offer a day and night camera, thus enabling the ‘Defog’ mode, where the intelligent software uses both day and night lens technology to be able to ‘see’ through fog and rain. Using brushless motors and having continuous 360-degree rotation is standard throughout the range.

Ulysses 2

An ultra-performance multi-sensor marine thermal camera that has no need for cooling due to its state-of-the-art thermal sensor is at the forefront of the range of cameras on offer from Omnisense. True thermal tracking at a distance of 2 miles, and weighing in under 9kg, the next-generation Ulysses is said to ‘pack quality into a rugged marine-grade platform.’

The micro and mini series cameras feature a high-performance long-wave infrared sensor that is said to stream thermal imaging videos to various multi-function displays. All have the added option of a Joystick Controller.

The full range of Ulysses cameras from Omnisense, along with all accessories, are now available exclusively from Plymouth-based Technical Marine Supplies.
