Teenager rescued from Lymington Quay

Firefighters rushed to help a teenager who plummeted into the water from a Hampshire quay.

Crews rushed to Lymington Quay yesterday morning after reports that a 19-year-old had become stuck in the water. Firefighters say the teenager was with friends at the time of the incident, around 3.45am today.

The teenager was rescued by a crew from Lymington Fire Station, although crews from Redbridge, Fareham and the Coastguard were also mobilised. However, they were stood down en route.

South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) also attended to treat the teenager, sending an ambulance crew, ambulance officer and a Hazardous Area Response Team.

A spokesperson for SCAS said the teenager was assessed at the scene, but was not taken to hospital.
