The world is not falling apart, says Ferretti Group’s CEO: company takes six-strong fleet to Monaco Yacht Show

Riva 112 Dolcevita Super launched by Ferretti Group Riva 112 Dolcevita Super

With 47 units over 30 metres currently in production (or recently launched), the Ferretti Group has taken a fleet of what it describes as ‘magnificent yachts’ – led by Riva 112’ Dolcevita Super – to the Monaco Yacht Show (MYS).

Alberto Galassi (CEO of Ferretti Group) recently told MIN that it’s been an incredible quarter for the company. “It’s been so challenging because the tariffs have been brought to this industry. The month of April was not easy. The month of May was very good. June, July, August, September – incredible.

“I don’t know whether everybody is back to normal,” he adds.

“I think everybody realises that the world is not falling apart. Everybody realises that no matter what the media say, there’s wealth in the planet. And everybody is realising that the most incredible way to join privacy and freedom, which are two key drivers, is the yachting industry.”

He’s pushing the message of the growing importance of the superyacht and made-to-measure segment hard.

While Galassi says “numbers are boring,” he reels off a selection to illustrate the company’s finding its way quite nicely, with an order backlog of nearly 1.5 billion (1.7bn) and a net revenue of €620m.

“Believe it or not,” he states, “companies live or die by cash.

“Cash is like fuel. Cash is like oxygen. Cash is what tells you whether you can proceed with investors, investments or not,” he says. “This company is ready to do acquisitions. This company is ready to continue the growth of its products. It’s ready to differentiate itself from the competitors, because we will not stop.”

The group reported steady growth in net revenues from new yachts from 2021 to 2024, with an increase of almost 40 per cent from 2021 to last year. This trend, it says, is the result of growth in the strategic made-to-measure segment, as well as a significant increase in superyachts, which have doubled their share of total orders in less than four years.

New Riva launched at Monaco Yacht Show

As the Riva 112’ Dolcevita Super makes its world premiere, with a design responding to demand from owners by increasing outdoor spaces, Galassi says Monaco is the ideal location to show it off.

“We are in the lifestyle capital of the world, and the Monaco Yacht Show is the ideal stage on which to showcase the beauty and innovative power of our boats,” says Galassi. “The autumn boat show season has been a great satisfaction, giving us many reasons for optimism. And we can’t wait to present all the projects and new developments we’ve got planned in the coming months, starting with Riva 42 metri Caravelle, which follows in the footsteps of the legendary boat introduced in the 1960s.

“Carlo Riva, the genius of yachting and beauty, always used to say to me: ‘Alberto, make them beautiful’. And we continue to work, plan and design so that his wish is fulfilled.”

Ferretti Group is also showing Custom Line Navetta 38, Custom Line 140’, Pershing GTX116, wallywind110 and wallywhy200.
