Thetford announces death of CEO Stéphane Cordeille

Thetford has announced the death of its CEO, Stéphane Cordeille.

In a statement issued by the company’s executive leadership team yesterday (2 June 2026), Thetford said it received news of Cordeille’s passing on Sunday, 31 May 2026.

The company extended condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.

Italy-based Thetford is a leading supplier of mobile sanitation systems, cooking appliances, refrigerators, service doors and a broad range of toilet care and maintenance products for the RV and marine markets. Thetford Marine is part of the Thetford Group, incorporating the three product brands Tecma, Thetford and Norcold.

Cordeille was promoted to chief executive of Thetford in 2012. He joined Thetford in 1988 as sales manager of its French subsidiary.

“Stéphane was an exceptional leader, a trusted colleague, and a valued friend to many throughout our organisation and across the RV industry,” the statement reads. “His dedication, vision, and unwavering commitment to Thetford played a pivotal role in shaping the company and strengthening its position within the market.

“Throughout his leadership, Stéphane guided Thetford through significant periods of growth and transformation. His influence extended far beyond business achievements. He will be remembered for his integrity, humanity, and the genuine relationships he built with employees, customers, partners, and industry peers around the world.”

The leadership team says its immediate focus is supporting employees globally following the news. The company states that it will continue its operations while providing support to staff during this period.

The statement adds: “Stéphane’s passing is a tremendous loss for all of us. We will honour his legacy by continuing the work he cared so deeply about, together and with the same dedication, purpose, and commitment that he demonstrated every day.”

The company’s executive leadership team includes interim CEO and chief financial officer Peter Struijs, chief administrative officer Bartho Anderson, managing director Europe & APAC Marie Boulanger, president North American RV business Aaron LaFleur, general manager North American manufactured housing business David Froom and global vice president product management and research & development Ronald Gram.
