Tickets for six more of SailGP’s 2025 events are now on sale, including those for Emirates GBR SailGP Team’s home event in Portsmouth, UK.

The annual global championship takes place in iconic cities around the world, with 12 national teams battling it out in identical 50-foot foiling catamarans, racing faster than the wind at speeds over 100km/h (60mph). The best athletes in the sport – male and female – compete for a total prize of USD $12.8 million.

The event in Portsmouth takes place on 19-20 July 2025 against the backdrop of iconic attractions such as the Spinnaker Tower and Southsea Castle. Tickets can be purchased online.

“It’s fantastic that SailGP will be coming back to Great Britain with an event in Portsmouth next summer,” says Emirates GBR driver Dylan Fletcher. “The F50s are super fast boats and in Portsmouth we will have the tide to contend with and a difficult sea state, so it will be a challenging event for the teams, but hopefully we will have an advantage with the support from the home crowd.”

Carrying the flag for the UK, the Emirates Great Britain SailGP Team – co-owned by sailing great Sir Ben Ainslie and driven by his America’s Cup co-helm Dylan Fletcher – will be competing in its first home event for three years. SailGP previously staged events in Plymouth in 2022 and Cowes in 2019.

Earlier this year, SailGP announced a significant upgrade to its fleet of F50 catamarans. Starting in January 2025, the entire fleet will be equipped with new high-speed T-Foils, replacing the existing L-Foils used since the league’s inception in 2019.

The Emirates Great Britain Sail Grand Prix | Portsmouth will be the eighth stop of the Rolex SailGP Championship’s 2025 Season. The season began with the Emirates Dubai Sail Grand Prix presented by P&O Marinas last month.

The next two stops in the season calendar will be Auckland, New Zealand, on 18-19 January, and Sydney, Australia, on 8-9 February.

The championship will then venture to the USA, beginning with the Rolex Los Angeles Sail Grand Prix on 15-16 March and then the Oracle San Francisco Sail Grand Prix one week later on 22-23 March. The US leg will conclude with the Mubadala New York Sail Grand Prix on 7-8 June, and the European leg will kick-off in Portsmouth on 19-20 July before heading to Germany, Italy, Switzerland and Spain. The 2025 Season will culminate at the grand final in Abu Dhabi on 29-30 November 2025. Tickets are available online through SailGP’s website.

Tickets for the Waterfront Grandstand at the Emirates Great Britain Sail Grand Prix | Portsmouth are on sale now, with prices starting from £30 for children and £60 for adults. Fans on land will enjoy views from the elevated race stadium, while a huge on-water presence is expected to flood the Solent as the UK’s passionate sailing fandom flock to the event of the summer.

“Following a fantastic season launch in Dubai, we are excited to invite fans across America and Europe to purchase tickets to see the most exciting racing on water first-hand when the Rolex SailGP Championship travels to some of the most iconic destinations on our 2025 Season calendar,” says SailGP CEO Russell Coutts. “Spectators can experience a new era of the best high-speed, high-tech racing on water – with the action unfolding very close to shore. SailGP tickets are the perfect holiday gift for racing fans.”
