Twisted Marine, the RIB and sportsboat manufacturer, has acquired carbon fibre specialist, KS Composites.
The acquisition brings carbon fibre expertise into the Twisted group, enhancing engineering solutions, driving innovation, and securing supply for the next generation of Twisted marine products.
Over the past five years, Twisted has expanded its operations, entering the premium marine sector and establishing a special projects division. Earlier this year, Twisted acquired Network Yacht Brokers Dartmouth. This move to acquire KS Composites further solidifies its longer-term growth plans.
KS Composites will continue to operate independently with its four decades of experience in advanced composite manufacturing. All 120 employees will remain in their current positions, ensuring continuity, with managing director Jamie Smith continuing to lead the firm.
Smith, who has also joined the Twisted board of directors, comments: “As Twisted prepares for global growth, including increased activity in the USA, it requires carbon fibre engineering expertise and production capability that provides a genuine competitive advantage. KS Composites delivers that capability, and I am delighted to play a part in expanding what Twisted can design, build, and deliver.”
Jake Cronk, Twisted’s chief operating officer, adds: “With KS’s expertise in composites and Twisted’s commitment to creating the best possible vehicles and marine products, we’re accelerating every major project we have in motion. This is an important moment for the future of Twisted and an exciting step forward for both teams. We’re strengthening our British engineering expertise while unlocking the next chapter as a global business.”
