Typhoon International upgrades flagship drysuits
Drysuit and marine equipment manufacturer Typhoon International has launched upgraded versions of three of its popular drysuits: the Max B 2.0, Sea Kayak 2.0, and PS440 2.0.
The firm, which has seven decades’ experience in manufacturing marine products and watersports apparel, says it has produced its latest series of drysuits to suit a wide variety of on-water activities, incorporating modern materials with innovative technology.
Max B 2.0
The Max B drysuit, in use for over 20 years, has been updated and features a front entry with a low-maintenance YKK Aquaseal zip, alongside Glideskin neoprene cuff and neck seals for ease of use. The articulation of the suit is designed to enhance freedom of movement. Additional features include an adjustable fleece-lined storm collar, fabric socks, and adjustable ankle and wrist covers. Reinforced knees, seat, and shins provide extra durability, and reflective strips have been added for increased visibility. A leg pocket with a chart/map window is also included.
“When a suit is as popular and has been in the range for as long as the Max B, changes are only made when there is absolute conviction that the new features will add functionality and improve the user’s experience,” says Kevin Coulthard, managing director of Typhoon International.
The Max B 2.0 is available in red/black in sizes M/MB/L/XL/XXL.
Sea Kayak 2.0
The Sea Kayak drysuit is designed with waterproof and breathable TX-4 fabric. It includes a Glideskin neck seal, latex cuff seals, and a hinge entry system featuring a YKK Aquaseal zip. The suit also has an angled cuff design to facilitate easier paddling and a 360-degree neoprene waistband compatible with spray decks. It includes a chest strap, internal braces, and a rotating buckle system that supports the suit’s drop-seat functionality. The fleece-lined storm collar comes with a foldaway hood, and IMO Reflective Encapsulated badges improve visibility in low-light conditions.
Durability is enhanced through reinforced nylon at high-wear areas, with seat protection further supported by removable neoprene inserts. A sleeve pocket is positioned for access while wearing a personal flotation device.
The men’s Sea Kayak drysuit comes in tangerine/grey and is available in sizes M/MB/L/XL/XXL. The women’s version comes in tangerine/plum, in sizes S/SM/M/LM/L.
PS440 2.0
The PS440 drysuit has been updated with a zip-off collar system to extend its versatility. The unisex multisport drysuit features a more articulated fit for improved movement. The updated design includes a large front chest pocket and a low-profile bellow thigh pocket with a chart/map pouch. The suit also features a high-visibility hood, which can be packed into the removable collar, and IMO reflective encapsulated patches for enhanced visibility.
The suit’s durability is ensured by a 1000 denier PU-coated reinforced nylon seat and knees, with neoprene seat inserts for added comfort during extended use. Additional features include internal elastic drawcord pullers and internal braces with a chest strap for support.

The PS440 2.0 is available in red/black in sizes S/M/L/LB/XL/XXL.
Earlier this month, Ben Willis was appointed Typhoon’s head of leisure and commercial (UK and Ireland) sales, following nine years in the role of UK commercial sales manager.
And, in March 2024, Typhoon appointed Galway Maritime as its leisure distributor for Ireland. Key sales channels in Ireland for the firm include activity centres, surf schools, kayak hire centres and the dinghy and yacht sailing communities.
