VC30 – Yanmar’s most advanced vessel control system to date
Yanmar says its VC30 is its most advanced control system yet — bringing throttle control, docking support and system data into one integrated environment. It’s designed to give boat owners smoother handling, clearer information and a more intuitive helm, and… it helps boatbuilders deliver a cleaner dashboard with less complexity and a better experience for anyone at the helm.
The upgraded display is central to that experience. The 4.3in 1000 cd optically bonded screen minimises glare, sharpens readability and provides NMEA2000 output for seamless integration with other onboard systems. Automatic dimming maintains ideal brightness after dark, giving operators steady visual comfort and greater confidence during night cruising.
The control heads and switch panels have been refreshed with a cohesive, modern design. Push buttons offer a natural tactile response, and improved water resistance supports durability in demanding marine conditions. This unified design helps create a polished, consistent helm layout across vessel types.
Boatbuilders to feel the benefit of streamlined installation
Installation has been streamlined with fewer components and a single ECU, reducing setup time for manufacturers and service teams. Compact wiring and connectors simplify routing, and the improved GUI supports quicker configuration and straightforward maintenance throughout the vessel’s life. A hardwired backup panel also adds reassurance for end users who value dependable redundancy.
For manoeuvring, the VC30 introduces dedicated joystick controls that pair seamlessly with Vetus bow thrusters. This brings easy, intuitive docking to marinas and tight waterways, available for both sterndrive and inboard applications, taking the stress out of docking.

Developed for single, twin and triple-engine installations, the VC30 works across Yanmar’s range of HVO-approved common rail engines, spanning from the JH-CR series at 40mhp to the 6LT series at 640mhp. This broad compatibility opens the system to a wide spectrum of vessels. It’s particularly well-suited for sailing yachts up to 75ft, motorboats up to 60ft and modern sailing multihulls, giving both builders and owners a future-ready platform across varied designs and propulsion layouts.
