Venice Boat Show to feature electric boat regatta

Preparations are underway for the second edition of the Venice Boat Show. It’ll take place for nine days (29 May to 6 June), and aims to showcase the best of Italian and international boating.

The program includes what is billed as the first full electric regatta which will, according to organisers, feature tests of endurance, agility and speed. A dedicated E-Village will be created, for companies involved in electric and eco-sustainable propulsion.

Organisers report about 130 exhibitors have registered for the main show, ranging from shipyards and nautical accessories companies, and it’s expecting over 150 boats in boats in the water.

It’ll take place in the historic Arsenale of Venice, a 50,000 square meter water basin.

The event, organised by Vela Spa on behalf of the Municipality of Venice, will focus on topics like sustainability and environmental impact.
