VIDEO: cargo ship’s head-on collision near miss

Two cargo ships almost collided on the Huangpu river, Shanghai, with the near-miss caught on camera at the scene.

The cargo ships neared collision on 9 September. Posted by FleetMon, one of the ships appears to speed out from the channel veering into the opposite lane. The oncoming ship has to swing to starboard to avoid impact and nearly hits the bank, it was the escorting tug which saved the day.

According to local reports, the captain of cargo ship that veered into the path of the oncoming traffic is to be penalised.
