Sunseeker has marked the start of lamination for hull no.1 of the Sunseeker 134 Superyacht at its dedicated superyacht facility in Osprey Quay, Dorset, on the UK south coast. The milestone was recognised with a ceremony attended by staff involved in the project.

The Osprey Quay site covers approximately 27,000 sq ft and has been reconfigured to support the construction of larger superyachts. According to the company, the facility has undergone infrastructure and workflow changes to support the production of new superyacht vessels.

Sunseeker says that more than 100 qualified boatbuilders will be involved during the construction process for the first hull. The lamination stage marks the beginning of hull production for the model, which is part of the firm’s long-term superyacht strategy.

Hull no.1 of the 134 Superyacht is scheduled to leave the production line for testing in April 2027. The vessel will be delivered to an owner based on the west coast of the US who has previously commissioned two Sunseeker yachts.

Work on hull no.2 is planned to begin after hull no.1 is de-moulded.

The news comes less than two weeks after a consortium led by KCP Holdings, in partnership with Lionheart Capital, acquired the company following completion of a debt purchase from existing lenders. As part of the ownership transition, Scott Millar stepped down as interim CEO, and Andrés Rubio has been appointed permanent CEO.
