Turkish boatbuilder VisionF Yachts has launched its first fully electric catamaran, the E-Cat 80. The 24-metre vessel entered the water earlier this month at the shipyard in Tuzla, Bosnia, and is the first in the yard’s new series of e-cats.

The catamaran features an exterior by Marco Casali (Too Design) and twin carbon fibre hulls designed by Dr Amedeo Migali (MICAD). It is equipped with two Danfoss electric motors, each providing 180kW continuous power and 340kW peak power. A bow thruster and stern thruster enhance manoeuvrability, and the yacht can reach top speeds of 16 knots.

The E-Cat 80 electric catamaran is powered by a system incorporating 54 solar panels, generating up to 21.6kW per hour — in theory, in sunny weather, offering endless range. The onboard battery system supports extended cruising without reliance on external power sources. Twin 150kW generators provide additional energy for emergencies and high-speed operation.

The catamaran has a beam of 10.92 metres and a length of 23.97 metres. Its layout accommodates up to 12 guests and includes crew quarters for four and a dedicated crew mess. The yacht’s garage is customisable and can store a range of water sports equipment, including tenders, jet skis, and diving gear.

The first unit is nearing delivery, and VisonF says additional models in the series are now being developed.

Further details of the E-Cat 80, including the battery specifications and more information about the yacht’s construction, will be confirmed in April.
