Volvo Penta wins overall DAME Award 2021
Volvo Penta has been announced as the Overall Winner of the Dame Awards at Metstrade 2021 for its Assisted Docking System. The Volvo Penta team joined via Zoom link to the awards.
Following a long-awaited return, 53 products from a total field of 103 entries spanning 25 countries were shortlisted for the 30th DAME Award competition. Category winners announced this morning are:
Marine Electronics and Marine Related Software winner – Garmin
Interior Equipment, Furnishings, Materials and Electrical Fittings Used in Cabins winner – Voyager TX Series
Deck Equipment, Sails and Rigging winner – Joy, the self tailing cleat
Life Saving and Safety Equipment winner – ResQLink View
Machinery, Propulsion, Mechanical and Electrical Systems winner – Volvo Penta for its Assisted Docking System and Mastervolt MLI Ultra 1250 – joint winners
The DAME Design Awards was launched in 1991 to promote design in all disciplines and to recognise the best-designed products at the Metstrade show. In making its judgements, the jury seeks to emphasise the importance of design for all marine products, from function to aesthetics and from packaging to the end product.
