Vortec Group acquires Rib-X International

South-coast based marine specialist Vortec Group has acquired superyacht and SOLAS tender manufacturer, Rib-X International. Vortec Group has added the RIB and hard boat manufacturer to its suite of companies to enable further growth.

Rib-X International offers a large range of superyacht SOLAS tenders, as well as luxury tenders and chase boats.

“In a fast-moving market, we are delighted to now have the opportunity to be the manufacturer of a quality British-built product,” says CEO Ross Collingwood. “The range of vessels on offer through Rib-X International is comprehensive and we currently boast a cutting-edge technology that others are yet to achieve.”

Rib-X International has recently re-located from Leicester to a large premises in Gosport on the South Coast. The business is well-equipped with a slip, hoist and plenty of space for boat production and manufacture through to sea trials, all on one site.

“We are about to launch a 13m chase boat from our Gosport premises and have several other vessels in build, ready to launch in the Spring,” says Richard Burlingham, MD Rib-X International. “We have a healthy order book and the team is very much looking forward to showcasing the latest builds as soon as we can.”
