Wavysail appoints Ben Barker as general manager to drive growth

Wavysail has announced the appointment of Ben Barker as general manager. Barker, formerly managing director at Extreme Destinations, part of the globally recognised Extreme Sports media brand, brings extensive experience in adventure tourism. 

His expertise is expected to play a key role in strengthening Wavysail’s position as a leading global brand in sustainable and inclusive adventure sailing.

Barker comments: “Joining Wavysail at this moment of growth is an incredible opportunity. The combination of adventure sailing, sustainability, and meaningful exploration aligns perfectly with my thirst for building impactful experiences. This appointment comes as Wavysail prepares for an ambitious period of growth, including expeditions to some of the most remote locations on the planet. The launch of its sister company Expedition Zero’s first net zero yacht in 2026 will mark a significant milestone, positioning Wavysail as the first net-zero sailing adventure company.
