Rooster sponsors Women’s Open Keelboat Championships

Women's Open Keelboat Championships

Technical clothing watersports brand Rooster has confirmed its sponsorship of the 2024 Women’s Open Keelboat Championships (WOKC) in the UK this May.

The Women’s Open Keelboat Championships is the only female-only open keelboat championship event in the UK. Rooster says the partnership reflects its dedication to supporting women in sailing and its commitment to designing specialised gear tailored for female sailors.

“We are thrilled to sponsor the Women’s Open Keelboat Championships this year,” says Kate Morrison, marketing and product manager at Rooster Sailing.

“At Rooster, we aim to provide sailors with the right gear they need to excel on the water. It feels like a natural progression for us to extend our support from our successful women’s dinghy sailing clothing sector into keelboat sailing. Sponsoring the WOKC not only allows us to support women in sailing but also presents an exciting opportunity for collaboration and innovation.”

In addition to sponsoring the event, Rooster is launching a selection of new products aimed at inshore racing later this season. The firms says its new partnership with the WOKC provides it with an opportunity to engage with sailors and gather feedback for future product development.

“We are excited to collaborate with the organisers and participants of the WOKC,” adds Morrison. “Our shared commitment to advancing the sport of sailing aligns perfectly with the goals of the event.“

The Women’s Open Keelboat Championships will take place from 10-12 May 2024 at Royal Southern Yacht Club, Hamble, on the UK’s south coast.
