Yamaha Motor launches European Pro-Fish Cup

Yamaha Motor has launched its latest fishing event: the Pro-Fish Cup. This inclusive Europe-wide competition is open to beginners, amateurs, and experienced participants, whether a Yamaha owner or not.

The Yamaha Pro-Fish Cup requires a free app on a smartphone, fishing equipment, and a team season ticket to take part. Teams can enter from virtually anywhere within the participating countries.

The structure of the competition allows participants to fish how, when and where they want on the competition weekends. Entrants are free to enjoy their chosen style of fishing whether on a lake, the sea, a riverbank, or even street fishing, safe in the knowledge they are competing against like-minded people enjoying the same style of fishing.

Qualifying fish include both freshwater and saltwater species:

Freshwater:
bream (bronze and silver), carp, pike, perch, roach, rudd, tench, zander, and trout

Seawater:
ballan wrasse, bass, sea bream (red, black or gilthead), coalfish, cod, mackerel, and pollack

Participants can take part as individuals or in teams consisting of two adults, two adults and a child (under 16), or one adult and two children (under 16). They must sign up online where a single entry includes the entire team for the whole season. For a single, one-off fee, teams can compete in one, two or three weekend events, choosing both where they fish and how long for.

Competitions are hosted on a national basis, with the season champions from each participating country being invited to a season finale Yamaha Pro-Fish Experience. All fishing will be catch and release where local regulations permit, with an emphasis on keeping clean banks, using compliant hooks, and acting in a way that has a minimal impact on the environment.
