Accolade for Frigomar air con
Rod Boreham receives the award. Frigomar’s new BLDC Variable Speed Inverter Drive air conditioning was named Product of the Year 2019 at the annual British Marine Electrical & Electronics Association Conference.
Frigomar BLDC is said to be 50% more energy efficient than a traditional air compressor and silent; it starts at a very slow speed with no peak current and as the room approaches temperature, it slows down, ensuring a constant, comfortable climate on board. It makes it possible for vessels without a generator to run air conditioning silently from just a small inverter. In ECO mode, these units draw no more than 200W, removing the need to run a generator.
