Women in the Marine Industry International Panel & Networking Breakfast

Hosted by British Marine, Metstrade, the Soundings Trade Only Group and Marine Industry News, the free event welcomes women and men at all career stages. It will run from 8:30am to 10am CET at the Metstrade Stage, RAI Amsterdam, with breakfast included.

Under the theme ‘Future of the Marine Workplace: Building the Next Generation of Leaders’, the panel will look at how marine businesses can attract staff and help them develop careers within the industry. The discussion will cover how technological change, shifting workforce expectations and global economic pressures affect businesses, alongside ways to develop leaders and create inclusive workplaces.

Four panellists will share their experience from across the international marine sector. Paulee Day, president and CEO of West Marine, brings operational and leadership experience, with a focus on business growth, governance and industry collaboration.

Fiona Richardson, vice president of human resources at Navico Group, specialises in organisational development and business transformation, as well as talent and leadership. Victoria Low, CEO of The Magenta Project, works to increase opportunity and inclusion in professional sailing and the wider marine industry. Her experience includes mentoring and helping emerging talent find routes into the sector.

Erna Rusi, chief revenue officer at Saxdor Yachts, has a background in sales, marketing, entrepreneurship and organisational growth, which has contributed to the boatbuilder’s international development.

Michele Goldsmith, vice president and general manager of the Soundings Trade Only Group, will moderate the discussion. Goldsmith is also behind the Women in the Industry initiative.

Now in its fifth year, the event follows two consecutive years of capacity audiences, with more than 160 people attending in 2025. This year’s panel will draw on the speakers’ business experience and career histories, while the breakfast gives attendees time to meet industry colleagues.

Women in the Marine Industry International is also continuing its support for Room to Read, a global charity focused on children’s literacy and girls’ education. Following May’s Global Women’s Walk, during which marine professionals raised awareness and funds, this year’s fundraising target is $25,000 to support an entire school.
