Aksìa acquires Amare to expand MHI marine components platform
Aksìa is expanding its marine components platform with the acquisition of Amare Group, bringing the Italian manufacturer alongside Seasmart as it builds a broader supplier to yacht and superyacht builders.
The deal is the first add-on acquisition since Aksìa Capital VI launched MHI Group with its purchase of Seasmart in November 2025.
“With Amare, we are taking the first concrete step in the consolidation journey launched with Seasmart,” says Filippo Anichini, partner at Aksìa.
Building a broader product range
Aksìa has acquired 100 per cent of Amare Group, the marine components business of Amare Srl, through MHI Group, its industrial platform for premium marine components.
Amare designs and manufactures portlights and glazing systems, gangways, kinematic and hydraulic systems, and wireless automation solutions. Founded in 2012, it operates across Modena and Isernia and serves Italian and international shipyards.
The acquisition complements Seasmart’s premium deck hardware business. The two companies will continue to operate under their existing brands, while sharing the wider MHI Group platform. The strategy is to combine expertise, manufacturing, commercial relationships and after-sales capabilities through MHI Group rather than merge the brands.
The plan is to use the combined product ranges to create cross-selling opportunities, launch additional product categories and strengthen international sales. MHI Group also intends to develop its refit and service business.
Amare founder remains as CEO
Amare founder Michele Benvenuto Preziuso is reinvesting in the business and remains as chief executive officer.
He says the company wants to grow while retaining its existing identity rather than folding it into a single group brand.
“We will preserve the strong identity of each group brand while leveraging shared expertise, experience and backgrounds,” Preziuso says.
He adds that the partnership will allow Amare to continue investing in people, production capacity, innovation and commercial development.
Amare’s Isernia production site has significant available capacity, which the group says can support future growth.
Further acquisitions planned
The Amare transaction forms part of Aksìa Capital VI’s wider buy-and-build strategy for MHI Group. Aksìa says it will continue to invest in organic growth while looking for further acquisitions in complementary marine component categories.
Anichini says the firm is already evaluating other opportunities that fit the project.
Aksìa is a private equity fund management company focused primarily on Italian mid-sized companies. It says its team has completed more than 60 transactions in Italy and abroad, investing more than €600 million through five funds.
