Aquamare Marine: a decade of ambition, growth and engineering excellence

Plymouth-based engineering company Aquamare Marine Limited is celebrating 10 years in business. 

Offering sales and support to the marine industry, Aquamare supplies a comprehensive range of products from top brands such as Opacmare, Trend, Tecnicomar, Planus and Seakeeper. It also provides worldwide deployment of its team of highly skilled engineers that includes specialist carpenters, GRP fabricators and painters.

The company was started by Rob Street and Jason Burdett in 2009 and they were later joined by Mike Sommerfeld in 2013. Rob sadly passed away in 2017 but Mike and Jason have continued with the same ambition and vision. The company now employs 40 people across the UK, USA and Australia.

Jason reflects: “It’s been an incredible journey; we are passionate about what we do. We always set out to build a fantastic team and create an ethos of putting the customer first and this has been key to our success.”

Mike adds: “We’ve seen a lot more demand for complex retrofit projects. For example, we recently completed a major project to install a stunning cocktail bar on a 78’ motor yacht doing everything from concept design to all aspects of the installation. We pride ourselves on engineering excellence and customer service, so this type of work aligns perfectly with our business.”
